2000 Pokémon Bayleef (1st Edition) PSA 10 - Neo Genesis #28 Gem Mint 🔥
This is a 1st Edition Bayleef, card #28 of 111 from the 2000 Neo Genesis set, in English. It is a PSA 10 Gem Mint in the original PSA slab (cert 53031771).
Neo Genesis opened the Neo series and brought the Johto starters into the game. Bayleef is the middle stage of the Chikorita line: a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 70 HP that evolves from Chikorita. Its Poisonpowder flips a coin to Poison the Defending Pokémon, and Pollen Shield protects Bayleef from Asleep, Confused, Paralyzed and Poisoned for a turn. The 1st Edition stamp sits at the lower left of the artwork.
On Neo-era cards the issues that decide a 10 are centering, holofoil scratching and edge whitening, and the photos show how this copy reads in the slab. The grade confirms condition; the photos show how it presents.

Bayleef #28 Neo Genesis FAQ
How should I read the PSA 10 pop on this card?
64 PSA 10s is about 17% of the 381 graded PSA 7 and up, while 218 PSA 9s make up roughly 57% of that group. The 9 is where most copies land, which is why a Gem Mint 1st Edition stands apart. Pull recent sold comps for both grades to see what the spread is worth to you.
How do I confirm it is a true 1st Edition?
Look for the 1st Edition stamp at the lower left of the artwork on the front. Unlimited copies do not carry it. The PSA label on this slab reads 1st Edition, and you can confirm that by cert.
What decides a PSA 10 on a Neo Genesis card?
Centering, surface and edges. Holofoil scratching and print lines show under angled light, and edge whitening shows on the back. A 10 means PSA found none of that at a level it would penalize, so the borders in the photos are worth a close look.
Are the pop numbers exactly PSA’s?
They come from public PSA population data and are dated on this page. Counts move as new cards are graded, so check psacard.com/pop for current figures before relying on them for a purchase decision.
How do I verify this slab?
Enter cert number 53031771 at psacard.com/cert and match the card name, set, number, edition and grade to the label and photos. Then inspect the case for cracks, scuffs or any sign of tampering.
